Hours after entering a not guilty plea to fraud charges in federal court, Teresa Giudice, 41, greeted hundreds of fans who lined up last night to meet the reality star at the Porsche Boutique in Wayne, N.J.
Giudice was on hand to sign copies of her book, “Fabulicious: On The Grill,” wearing a chic, form-fitting white dress with white sleeves.
Despite being accused of 39 counts of fraud, along with husband Joe Giudice, pictures of Teresa show the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star smiling for fans during the literary launch. She even cracked open a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate the event.
Earlier in the day, Teresa and Joe Giudice made their pleas after being charged two weeks ago with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud.
Joe Giudice is also being charged with failing to file federal tax returns from 2004 to 2008, where it’s reported he earned almost $1 million.
Teresa Giudice’s book signing shouldn’t be a surprise, as lawyers for the family have told them to continue life as it was before the indictment.
According to the AP, Mile Feinstein, who represents Joe Giudice, said, “We have told them to continue life as they’ve lived it. They have contracts with Bravo and others, and they shouldn’t imprison themselves.”
At yesterday’s hearing, U.S. District Judge Esther Salas set a trial date of Oct. 8.
Teresa Giudice’s attorney Henry Klingeman said the reality star is focused on what’s important in her life.
“She’s concerned, but she’s taking care of business, taking care of her children, getting ready for school,” he said. “I’m confident we’ll have a really strong defense. I’m confident in her.”
